John has spent nearly 25 years working in the field of health, performance and rehabilitation, with client groups including those operating at elite level in the field of sailing, cricket and motor racing. Alongside these performance-based individuals, he has extensive experience of working with other specialised client groups and challenging medical conditions such as MS, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and cancer. Fundamental to his clients’ successes has been the recognition that well-controlled movement is the cornerstone to physical performance and functional pain-free living.
Graduating from King's College London with a BSc (Hons) physiology, his undergraduate research work on respiratory control was published in the Journal of Applied Physiology. Holding numerous fitness industry qualifications (including ACSM HFI and ACSM Cancer Trainer), he is also a fully qualified teacher and assessor (PGCE from UCL, Institute of Education). John has more than a decade of experience with The Performance Matrix (TPM) system, applying its principals of analysis and retraining to a wide variety of client projects.
John is absolutely committed to the principal of continuing education for movement practitioners. Over the last 10 years he has been tutoring and assessing fellow fitness professionals. strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and assorted medical professionals. What has united these varied disciplines is the pursuit of unrestricted, efficient, purposeful and pain-free movement.
